Privacy policy
Effective and last updated September 3, 2026.
The separate consumer health data privacy policy explains rights under Washington’s My Health My Data Act.
Who is responsible for the site?
Parents Home Care is a trade name of ParagraphAI Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian corporation registered in Ontario.
ParagraphAI Inc. also operates Zaidey as a separate trade name. It is the controller for both services.
Privacy contact: the Privacy Officer, ParagraphAI Inc., 6 Eglinton Ave E, Suite 200, Toronto, ON M4P 1A6, Canada. Email privacy@parentshomecare.com.
What do we collect?
We collect only what is needed for the assessment and optional next steps:
- Assessment answers about everyday tasks, household tasks, falls, memory and judgment, medicines, recent health care, social contact, and recent change.
- The event that brought you to the site, how you are coping, and an optional free-text note.
- Relationship, optional first name, age band, living situation, and when you last saw the person.
- The result, flagged areas, serious-event rules that applied, and the assessment version.
- Your email if you ask us to send or save a result.
- State or province if needed to show a region-specific resource or determine whether a placement introduction is available.
- Consent records, including the exact text shown, time, an IP-address hash, browser information, and disclosure version.
- Technical security logs.
We do not ask for the parent’s full legal name, birth date, address, phone number, or government identifier. We do not use an analytics service at launch.
Why do we use it?
We use your information to:
- Produce, explain, save, email, share, compare, or delete a result as you request.
- Prevent abuse, secure the service, record consent, and understand where people leave the assessment. This uses limited technical information only.
Who do we share it with?
We do not sell your information.
Zaidey. If you separately consent, we send a limited summary to Zaidey so its signup can be prepared. The consent screen lists each field before anything moves. Individual answers and free text do not move.
A Place for Mom. When you choose the placement path, we send only a random reference code. We do not send the result, answers, parent information, or your contact details.
Who processes information for us?
These service providers process limited information only to run the site:
- Vercel hosts the website and server functions.
- Neon stores assessment and account data.
- Resend sends requested emails.
Each provider must use information only for the service it supplies.
Where is information stored?
Information is stored and processed on servers in the United States.
If you live in Canada, this means your information leaves Canada. It may be available to US courts, law enforcement, or national-security authorities under US law.
If you live in Quebec, the information is communicated outside Quebec. Before launch, ParagraphAI Inc. completed a privacy impact assessment and confirmed written terms with each processor. The assessment concluded that the listed safeguards provide adequate protection for this service.
How long do we keep it?
- An unsaved completed assessment: 12 months.
- A saved assessment with a return link: 24 months.
- Contact information: until you unsubscribe or delete the assessment.
- Consent, disclosure, and deletion-audit metadata: six years.
- Referral financial records that contain only random codes: seven years.
- Security logs: 90 days.
After deletion, an irreversible hash of the email address remains until you opt back in. That lets us honor the unsubscribe without retaining the address.
The six-year metadata excludes answers, results, free text, names, email addresses, and private link tokens. Security logs exclude assessment answers, free text, result colors, and parent details.
When a retention period ends, the record is deleted or irreversibly aggregated.
How do I access, correct, delete, or withdraw consent?
Use the controls on your saved-result link, or email privacy@parentshomecare.com. You can ask us to:
- send you a copy
- correct contact details
- withdraw optional consent
- stop emails
- delete an assessment
How we verify you
We verify a request through possession of the private saved-result link, or a one-time verification link sent to the email already attached to the assessment. We do not ask for government ID or new sensitive details.
How long we take
We will respond without undue delay and within 30 days. Where the applicable law permits it and more time is reasonably necessary, we may extend once by up to another 30 days. We will explain the reason and the new deadline before the first 30 days end.
What deletion removes
Deleting removes the assessment answers, result, free text, names, email address, and private link tokens.
We retain only these records afterward:
- consent, disclosure, and deletion-audit metadata for six years
- an irreversible email suppression hash until you opt back in
- security logs for the balance of their 90-day period
- random-code financial records for seven years
What happens after a privacy incident?
We investigate, contain, and document any unauthorized access or disclosure. We will contact affected people and regulators when applicable law requires it and within the required period.
We also maintain a voluntary incident response and notification process for assessment information.
Canadian incidents are assessed under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law. Records of every breach are kept as required.
Email choices
The results email and one 90-day reminder are sent only when you select the unchecked request. Occasional guidance or promotions require separate express consent through another unchecked box.
Commercial email comes from Parents Home Care support@parentshomecare.com. It identifies ParagraphAI Inc., includes our mailing address and has an unsubscribe link. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly. A deletion confirmation is transactional and contains no promotion.
You may ask us to send one result email to a family member only after confirming that person gave permission. We do not subscribe that person or send later marketing.
We do not send text messages at launch.
Children
The site is for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Complaints
Contact the Privacy Officer first at privacy@parentshomecare.com.
In Canada, you may also raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
US residents may contact their state attorney general or the regulator named in the consumer health data policy.
Changes
This policy was approved on September 3, 2026. Material changes will be dated and explained on this page.
A new use or sharing purpose that requires consent will not apply until the required consent is obtained.
